Winter Program

Designed as a complete refresher immediately prior to the January entrance exam, perfect for the strong student as topics are reviewed quickly.

The sessions are taught in a lecture-style format. Given our years of experience with the exam, we review all of the topics a student should know for the Monmouth County Vocational School exam. This program is not customized to any student’s individual skills, but rather the approach is designed to deliver the skills and strategies that all of the students should collectively know.

The topics are covered in a precise and concentrated format due to the large amount of content to be reviewed. During these sessions, students will be exposed to both skills and strategies critical to testing success. Students will be provided with 6 hours of math and 6 hours of language arts review, homework, 2 full-length practice exams and a complete coursebook.

Includes

  • 12 hours of group instruction – 6 hours math and 6 hours of verbal review.
  • 2 full-length practice exams to practice timing, testing experience, and measure improvement.
  • Practice tests will be completed in-house (or remotely) on the first and last day of class.
  • Homework assignments after each class.
  • 6 Practice tests with review leading up to the exam.
  • A course manual and supplemental coursework.

Please note: During the first class (11/08 or 11/09) students will take a full practice test. If you sign up late that test will be provided for at home completion.

Why the Winter Program with EXL PREP?

Our Winter program is a great opportunity for students to review all content specific to the MCVSD or similar admissions exams. The skills, concepts and strategies that we review in this class will help your student on both their exams and in their future schooling. This class represents an opportunity for students to make sure all aspects of the test, both math and language arts, are fresh in their minds. The combination of in person instruction and practice tests with review help students perform their best when it comes to test day. See below for our results over the past years!

Our Results

The table below shows the number of students who went through one of our programs that were accepted to each of the MCVSD Schools. There are about 80 students accepted to each of the freshman classes.
